* If you experience problems with your contact lenses, please consult your optician

Disposable lenses are a safe and practicle method of maintaining healthy vision. However, misuse can lead to not only damage of the lenses, but may also cause irritation / damage to your eyes. Always follow the instructions provided with your lenses, and those provided by your optician.

For careful and carefree maintenance of your contact lenses, follow the key points given below:

    Fitting
  • Always follow the instructions provided by the contact lens manufaturer when fitting / removing your contact lenses.
  • Make sure your hands are clean - wash and rinse them thoroughly - this helps to prevent contamination of the lens with microbes from your skin.
  • Be aware of the manufacturers guidelines if you wear your contact lenses overnight. Remove them if they are not designed for overnight use.

    Cleaning
  • Always use fresh solutions to clean, disinfect and rinse your contact lenses.
  • Never use solutions that are past their use by date.
  • Clean the lenses in a sterile solution to remove most of the microbes and depositits which have accumulated through usage.
  • Do not use tap water or saliva to clean or moisten your lenses.
  • Make sure the solutions you use are appropriate for your lens type, and never use solutions designed only for hard contact lenses. Preferably, use solutions recommended by your optician and/or the lens manufacturer.

    Storage
  • Always replace the solution in your lens case - never re-use it.
  • Do not store your lenses in saline rinsing solutions - this will not prevent the growth of microbes on the lens surface.
  • Clean your lens case daily using clean and fresh sterile solution, allowing it to air dry.
  • Replace your lens case regularly every three months.
  • Do not use lenses that have become damaged or dry - replace them.

The points given above are only intended as guide lines - if you have any doubts, or queries relating to the care and maintenance of your contact lenses - consult your optician.
