Q1.   How do I get my contact lens prescription?

Your optometrist is required by law( 1989 Optician Act) to give you a copy of your contact lens prescription when he has completed satisfactorily the fitting of your lenses. Remember to ask specifically for your contact lens prescription. See home page to print out contact lens prescription form. This can then be scanned and e-mailed, faxed or posted to us. Just sending the old contact lens boxes to us is not enough unfortunately.

Q2.   What if my lens is not listed or is a branded lens?

Lenses not listed on our site can be supplied if you contact us with your requirements. All own brand lenses are simply repackaged with the optician’ own name on. Your own optician would be able to suggest the mainstream version of the lens or we would be happy to advise. Contact us with your requirements.

Q3.   What is a contact lens prescription and why do you need it?

The prescription specifies the brand of lens you require, its fitting parameters and its power. The prescription will be dated to indicate the last check up. In some circumstances we may verify this with your optician.

Q4.   Do you supply worldwide?

Of course! Please check under terms and condition for details of postage costs.

Q5.   It’s been over a year since my last contact lens check. My eyes are fine. Can’t you sell me my previous prescription?

We cannot supply lenses without a contact lens prescription dated within the last 12 months. To supply lenses without a check could make an existing eye problem worse. You should be aware that some contact lens related problems have no obvious symptoms initially. We therefore, require proof that lens wear is not contra indicated.

Q6.   Why is a sight text different from a contact lens check up?

A sight test checks the general health of the eye and confirms the optical correction required for spectacles amongst other things. A contact lens check confirms the strength and fitting of the contact lens and specifically checks the health of the eye in relation to contact lens. The power of you spectacles is not necessa5rily the same as the power of your contact lens.

Q7.   Do I still need check ups?

Definitely. If you choose to make a saving on your lenses by purchasing from us. We take on the role of supplier only. Your optician still has the vital role of checking the health of your eyes. This should be done annually as a minimum or as advised by your optician.

Q8.   How long will it take to get the lenses?

Some lenses are in stock and can be turned around straight away so you would receive these within 3-4 days. Other lenses we would order from the manufacturer. This has the advantage of giving you fresh lenses with their maximum shelf life. These lenses should arrive within 7 days.
